Funeral services for Elbert T. Gaskill, age 58, of Grayson, LA will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Caldwell Parish Chief Deputy, Jack McKeithen will deliver remarks and Warden Kevin Wyles of the Caldwell Parish Correctional Center will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson. The Gaskill Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Elbert Theodore Gaskill was born on March 28, 1966, at El Paso, Texas to his parents, Jimmie Lee Gaskill and Frances Darlene Kiser, and he passed from this life on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Oschner LSU Medical Center in Shreveport following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Irene Woolsey and foster mother, Candy McCreary; his sister, Inez "Sissy" Owens; and his father-in-law, Charles Antley.

Elbert spent fifteen years driving all across the United States as a truck driver. He served as a Kitchen Sergeant with the Caldwell Parish Correctional Center. One of his favorite things in life was raising chickens of all types, sizes and breeds. His greatest love in his life was spending time with his wife, his children and his beloved grandchildren who were absolutely a light in his life. Elbert was a patriot in every sense of the word, having loved America and the freedoms we all share. He was an avid fisherman and loved Nascar and WWE. He also was an employee of Super B Speedway in Chatham and loved to attend Car Shows.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his beloved wife, Michelle Antley Gaskill, of Grayson;  his son, Zachary Jones (Kailee) of Bastrop; three daughters, Amber Graham and Megan Graham( Jacob) both of West Monroe and Emily Cotherman (Jason) of Olla;  three brothers, Chris McCrery (Ashley) of Eagle Lake, Texas, Justin Woolsey of Bastrop, and Monti Bishop (Carissa) of Spring, Texas; sister, Marsha Cook (Jimmy) of Houston, Texas ;foster dad, Joe McCreary and ten grandchildren: Brandon, Shalynn, Madison, Collin, Bryson, Creedyn, River, Kason, Illa and Corbin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher McKee, Jason Cotherman, Jacob Beard, Shannon Fatheree, Charlie Hutchison and Marvin DeLancey.

Honorary pallbearers include all Officers of the Caldwell Correctional Center and all employees and Officers of the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office.

In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Riser & Son Funeral Home to help defray the funeral expenses.
