Effie Mae Floyd

Funeral services for Effie Mae Floyd, age 91, 0f Columbia will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from the sanctuary of Columbia Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Warren Maxwell and Bro. Bruce McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Floyd Family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.

Effie Mae Rutherford Floyd was born on March 12, 1932 at Foulk, Arkansas to the union of her parents, Andrew Rufus Rutherford and Cora Belle Littleton. She passed from this life on February 5, 2024  at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia following an extended illness. 

She and her husband Wayne L. Floyd had owned and operated, Floyds Handy Pack for many years prior to his death. She also owned and operated Anna's Dress Shop in Columbia for many years. She was an active member of Columbia Heights Baptist Church and she was loved by her church family and by the Caldwell Parish Community immensely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband , Wayne; by her son Ronnie  and by seven siblings.

Left to cherish her sweet memory is her sons, Bobby & Sheila Floyd of Chatham and Billy Floyd of Columbia; her precious grandchildren, Kimberly Fitzgerald, Amanda Bell, Lisa Saxon, Cody Floyd, Kevin Floyd and Randy Floyd and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also blessed to have the friendship and support of her dearest friends, Lou and Bill Rushing and Patsy McGinty.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clint May, Steve May, Homer Brockner, Dan Carr, Thomas Parker and Ronnie Stamper. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Gaylon Head.
