Edgar Forrest Cook, Jr.

Funeral services for Edgar Forrest Cook, Jr age 69 of Prairieville, LA and formerly of Urania will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, April 9, 2023, from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. R. V. Couch officiating. Interment will follow in the Urania Cemetery at Urania. The Cook Family will host visitation at the funeral home in Olla from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Edgar Forrest Cook, Jr. was born on  February 28, 1954, at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Edgar Forrest Cook, Sr. and Evelyn Raye Barnum Cook. He was preceded in death by his father and by his grandparents. Edgar Jr. passed from this life on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at his residence in Prairieville, LA following an extended illness.

There weren't many places Ed could not walk into without seeing a familiar face.  If he didn't have a friend where he was, he would be sure to make one  and leave a lasting impression. He could light up a room anywhere he went. He was caring, kind, and especially funny, with a story to tell for any situation. He could fix anything that broke (In his own unique way), and he would lend a hand to anyone in need, no matter the time or the place.  He worked hard and loved even harder. He was always ready to have a good time with friends and family around. He loved his wife and his two daughters, his mother and siblings, but he especially loved his grandson, Elijah or as he called him "Rastus".

Left to cherish a life well lived is his mother Evelyn Barnum Cook; his sister, Patricia Taylor; his brother, Joe Todd Cook; his beloved wife, Demetria Cook; his daughters, Morgan and Murphy Cook (and Gary Brown); grandson, Elijah Brown and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
