       Elsa Earlene Aplin Huff, 91, of Harrisonburg died early Friday morning, Sept. 30th at The Columns Community Care Center in Jonesville. A native and lifelong resident of Catahoula Parish, Mrs. Huff was a homemaker and former secretary.
     She was the daughter of the late Perry H. and Mae Smith Aplin and spent her first three years in the Jug Bend community before the family moved to Aimwell.  She was married to Albert L. Huff for more than 57 years before his death in 2009. Mrs. Huff was an active member of First Baptist Church-Harrisonburg for 31 years and was a founding member of Kidron Baptist Church.
    She was predeceased by three sisters, Oressa A. Poole, her identical twin Merlene A. Reeves and Mary Ann A. Estis and by her granddaughter, Casey Alexandra White. Survivors include her brother, Perry H. Aplin and his wife, Lynda; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Huff Johnson of Harrisonburg and Sue Duck Huff of Monroe; seven children, William and Susan H. Gilley of Harrisonburg, Steve and Marsha H. Pemble of Port Allen, Kirk and Amy Huff of Harrisonburg, Mark and Ronda Huff of Harrisonburg, David and Phyllis H. Jordan of Jasper, TX, Eric and Mary Huff of Pineville, and Keith and Angie Huff of Natchez, MS.
    Mrs. Huff is also survived by 25 grandchildren: Brad and Crystal Gilley Lindeman of Lumberton, TX, Tad and Mona Gilley Frantzen of The Woodlands, TX, Will and Natalie T. Gilley of Bentonville, AR, Sean Gilley of Mont Belvieu, TX, Daniel and Julia Pemble of West Melbourne, FL,  Joseph and Danielle Huff of Columbia, LA, Joel and Stephanie Huff of Greenbrier, AR, Matthew Huff of Harrisonburg, Wesley and Emily H. Doughty of Sour Lake, TX, Al Jordan of Denver, CO, David and Grace J. Kemp of Tempe, AZ, Lee Jordan of Monroe, LA, Elisha and Nicole Jordan of Jacksonville, FL, Canaan and Alethia J. Hudson of  Jonesville, Philip and Madi Jordan of Jacksonville, FL, Abigail Jordan of Harrisonburg, Naomi Jordan of Harrisonburg, Gideon Jordan of Monroe, LA, Isaac Jordan of Jasper, TX, Chris and Beth Huff Ahmed of Sicily Island, Caleb and Taren Huff of Fort Rucker, AL, Joshua Huff of Gainesville, FL, Ethan Huff of Oxford, MS, Aiden Huff and Skylar Huff, both of Natchez, MS.
     She is survived by 25 great-grandchildren: Brandon Evans of League City, TX, Aaron Evans of Albany, NY, Trevor Evans of Tyler, TX, Brandon Lindeman of Austin, TX, Andrew Lindeman of Lumberton, TX, Kaylee Frantzen of San Antonio, TX, Madison Frantzen of The Woodlands, TX, Owen Gilley and Margot Gilley, both of Bentonville, AR, Haden Gilley of Mauriceville, TX, Tyler Gilley of Mont Belvieu, TX, Taylin Gilley of Vidor, TX, Bethany Pemble, GraceAnne Pemble, and Nathan Pemble, all of West Melbourne, FL, Della Doughty of Sour Lake, TX, Leland Huff of Columbia, LA, Zayden Griesemer and Annika Huff, both of  Greenbrier, AR, Diana Jordan of Jacksonville, FL, Ryleigh Ahmed, Peyton Ahmed and Cade Ahmed, all of Sicily Island, Teagan Huff and Rhett Huff, both of Fort Rucker, AL. Two more great-grandchildren will be born in early 2023 and a brother in law: Seville Poole.  A host of much-loved cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her.
     Services for Mrs. Huff will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3rd at First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg with the Rev. Philip Caples officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Rev. Fred Day will lead graveside services.
    Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2nd at First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg.
     Pallbearers will be Sean Gilley, Joseph Huff, Matthew Huff, Elisha Jordan, Caleb Huff and Ethan Huff. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Gilley, Daniel Pemble, Joel Huff, Philip Jordan, Gideon Jordan, Isaac Jordan, Joshua Huff and Aiden Huff.
