Doyle David Williamson, affectionately known as “Bango,” passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on January 4, 2025, in his home in Round Rock, Texas. Born on August 19, 1943, in Pollock, Louisiana, Doyle’s life was defined by his dedication to hard work, his deep love for family, and his remarkable talent for understanding and fixing anything mechanical.Doyle was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Williamson; his mother, Lucy Arnold Sumrall; and his father, Willie "Bill" Williamson. He is survived by his siblings, Billy Williamson and Jean Sneed; his children, Dona Darlene Kruse, Doyle David Williamson, Brandy Renee Williamson, and Addie Ashley Wahlie; and eight cherished grandchildren.Doyle’s career began early, at the age of 14, in the automotive field. Over the next 44 years, he developed his expertise and earned the title of Master Automotive Technician. Known for his skill and dedication, he gained the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike before retiring.In his free time, Doyle loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He had a natural curiosity for how things worked and a lifelong passion for tinkering with all kinds of machines, both big and small. His resourcefulness and keen perception were unmatched, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A graveside service to honor Doyle’s life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Columbia Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Louisiana. Flowers may be sent to Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, Louisiana.Doyle’s legacy of hard work, ingenuity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
