Dorris Flores

Funeral services for Dorris Sandifer Flores, age 93 of Columbia, will be held at 11 AM Sunday, February 22, 2015 from the sanctuary of Pleasant Grove Church of God with Bro. Floyd Duchesne and Sis. Kaythena Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA from 3 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Flores was born on March 25, 1921 in Epps, La to the union of Joseph Mickens Sandifer and Bertha Mae Kitchens Sandifer and passed to her Heavenly home on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Citizens Medical Center, Columbia, LA. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of God and her greatest achievement was a host of beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.J. "Son" Flores; daughter, Linda Carr; two grandchildren: Bryan Carr and Dorris Nell Call; great-granddaughter, Angel Flowers; sisters: Esther Ainsworth, Elouise Lefler, Alice Sandifer and an infant sister; brothers: John Sandifer, Derwood Sandifer, Jimmy Sandifer, Junior Sandifer and Billy Sandifer and half-sister, Glendale Sandifer. Those left to cherish her memory are three sons: Gary W. Flores and wife, Jane of Hebert, James W. Flores and wife, Lori of Columbia and Pete Flores and wife, Cheryl of Nacogdoches, TX; four daughters: Sue Jordan of Baytown, TX, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Benny of Hebert, Cheryl Kay Jackson and husband, Dewayne of Pioneer, and Tammy Kirby and husband, Roger of Columbia; brother, Joe Sandifer of New Iberia; two sisters: Sammy Howard of Fort Gibson, MS and Nell Holder and husband, Tommy of Shreveport; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Shannon Flores, Chance Flores, Bubba Flores, Josh Flores, Caleb Flores, Scott Bamburg, Adam Bamburg, Jarrod Flores, Logan Edwards and Jock Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Kelly, Todd Howard, Tommy Bamburg and Greg Flores.
