Doris Anne Perkins

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Doris Anne Perkins, age 66 of Columbia, LA. Doris was born January 24, 1958, in Ruston, LA, to the union of her parents, Anthony Andrew Henderson and Melba Cheatwood Henderson, and she passed from this life on January 8, 2025, in Alexandria, LA, after a brief illness. Doris was a woman with many talents and interests. She was a well known quiller and was often asked by the state, universities, and other groups to teach classes in the art of quilling. Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. She enjoyed arts and crafts of all types, working in her yard, and genealogy. She wore many work hats during her life. She was a member of the Teamsters Union and drove a dump truck for many years. She was a Landman at one time and currently worked as the Deputy Coroner for Caldwell Parish. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Daniel G. Perkins; her children: Dorinda P. Caldwell (Michael) and Daniel D. Perkins (Courtney); her brother, Hogan Henderson (Cheryl); her beloved grandchildren: Joshua D. Griggs (Katelyn), Justice S. Masoner (Jessica), Jaden M. Masoner, Adrien J. Hickson, Hana R. Harding, Daniel C. Perkins, and Cordelia J. Perkins; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Griggs and Asher Masoner; as well as special friends, Daniel Ferguson and Timothy Frey.
