Doris Gough Barnhill

Doris Gough Barnhill, 59, of Olla, passed from this life on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mildenhall, England on October 5, 1962 to Jack and Trudi Gough. Doris graduated from LaSalle High School in 1980, and then Southern Arkansas University in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Throughout her 33 year teaching career, she touched many lives before retiring in 2017.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, Jack Gough. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 41 years, Calvin “Bull” Barnhill; three daughters and sons in law, Lauren Holloway (Brennan) of Olla, Paige Maxwell (Travis) of Olla, and Jennifer Evans (Heath) of Olla; her mother, Trudi Gough of Olla; two brothers, Glenn Gough (Candy) of Monroe and Steve Gough (Cathy) of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Susan Smith (Lester) of Tullos and Helen Duplissey (Gary) of Crandall, TX; sister-in-law, Sissy Franklin (Kerry) of Olla, and brother-in-law, Chris Barnhill (Stephanie) of Olla. Doris was a loving wife, daughter, mother, friend, and her greatest title was “Gigi”. She had seven beloved grandchildren, Landon Holloway, Kasen Maxwell, Hayden Holloway, Jackson Maxwell, Ainsleigh Holloway, Levi Maxwell, and Ellie Evans.

Pallbearers will be Travis Maxwell, Heath Evans, Brennan Holloway, Bradley McDowell, Steven McBroom, Randy McCarty, Kyle Barnhill, and Chris Barnhill. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie McDowell, Billy Tatum, Jeffrey Lasiter, Warren Roshto, and Sammy Elliott.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm at the Olla First Baptist Church. Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at Olla First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Baker officiating and Rev. Aaron Carpenter assisting. Interment will follow at the Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home.
