Funeral services for Mrs. Dena Shipp Bailes, age 70 of Clarks, will be held 2PM Thursday, July 9, 2009 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Glenn Lowery and Bro. Michael Whitman officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Hebert. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3PM to 9PM at the funeral home. Dena Lee Hoggatt was born on July 18, 1938 in Richland Parish to her parents; Frank Ray and Fannie Mae Womack Hoggatt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; Howard Ray Shipp, her granddaughter; Tina Bailey Bond, her brother; Richard Hoggatt and two sisters: Mildred Gilmore and Mary Grace Cumpton. She was a retired school bus driver with the Richland Parish School System and a retired employee of the Caldwell Parish Detention Center. Survivors include her husband; Lee Troy "Shorty" Bailes of Clarks, three sons: Arnold Ray "Arnie" Shipp of Hebert, Troy Bailes and wife, Mary of Euporia, MS, and Kenny Bailes of Rayville, three daughters: Donna Graham and husband, Jimmy of Hebert, Jeanette Bailey and husband, Roy of Columbia and Violet Spangler and husband, William of Columbia, brother; Ronald Lee Hoggatt of Leesville, sister; Frankie Hoggatt Davis of Jonesboro, twelve grandchildren: Danita Temple, Danielle Shipp, Randall Graham, Troy L. Bailes, Lowanna McCoy, Nita Lorice Johnston, Kirby Bailes, Roy Lavon Bailey, Danny Bailey, Bill Spangler, Marty Spangler, and Alisa Parker and two great-grandchildren: Daisy Temple and Memory Shipp. Pallbearers will be Randall Graham, Rodney Temple, Tommy Cumpton, Jamie Lowery, Troy Bailes and Kenneth Graham.
