Delmar Thomas

Funeral services for Delmar Seth Thomas, age 82, of Grayson, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Olla. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Delmar was born September 27, 1929 to Delbert and Vernadie Gough Thomas in Columbia and he lost the battle of life on August 27, 2012 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. He was a man that could do most anything from driving equipment, pouring concrete, to fixing lawn mowers. He was loved and known to many and will be missed very much. He was preceded in death by his wife: Martha Francis Thomas; two sons: Delmar Wayne Thomas and Dennis Seth Thomas; brother: Kermitt Thomas; six sisters: Metylene Davis, Annie Lee Bratton, Jessie Mae Splanger, Rosa Belle Richmond, Marie Maxwell, and Ruby Lasyone. He is survived by three sons: Jeff Thomas and his wife Marie of Grayson; Danny Thomas and his wife Reba of Clarks, Mike Thomas and his wife Renee of Olla; two daughters: Teresa Ogden and her husband Steve of Natchez; Judy Johnson of Grayson; sister: Kathlene Cain of Start; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ashley Thomas, Jake Ogden, Luke Ogden, Rick Bird, Riley bird, and Timmy Cox, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Maurice Mercer, Bryan Thomas, and James Stapleton.
