Funeral services for Deborah Givens Bass age 56 of Kelly will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Bryant and Rev. Robert McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery at Kelly. Visitation will be on Saturday Sept. 15, from 3 to 9pm at the funeral home in Columbia. Deborah Lou Givens Bass was born on June 10, 1956 at Alexandria, LA to the union of her parents M C Givens and Elizabeth Ann Hale Givens. She passed from this life on Thursday September 13, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Arthur Bass, by her father, and by her brother Mike Givens. She was a First Sargent with LCS Detention Center in Clarks, LA. Survivors include three sons, Gregory Russell Shryock and wife Ashley, of West Monroe; Samuel Edward Bass and wife Maria, of Columbia; and Patrick Dewayne Bass and wife Courtney Cheyenne, of West Monroe; her grandchildren, Madison Shryock, Gabriel Shyrock, Emory Grace Bass, Ryland Raine Bass, and John Thomas Bass; her brothers, Dee Givens, Kevin Givens, and Todd Givens, all of Calhoun; Scott Givens of Baton Rouge; and Merle Givens of Monroe; her sisters, Marilyn Bryant of Monroe, Katie Copeland of Calhoun, Pamela Nurmi and Jennifer Brown, both of Georgia; and Jhonnie Pate of Texas, Mother Elizabeth Ann Givens of Calhoun. Pallbearers include Cody Wilkes, Terry Sims, Jessie Sims, Bud Miller, Randall Miller,and Everett Cornwell. Honorary pallbearers include Sammy Crain, David Crain,Richard Deville, Tommy Brown, Mike Wilkes, and Brandon Nugent.
