Daniel Lee McClanahan was born in Columbia, Louisiana July 16, 1947 to the union of Ruby and Annie Hall McClanahan, and passed away at his home April 11, 2020. Dan (as he was better known by) lived in the Hebert community all his life. He was in the second graduating class of Caldwell Parish High School. He at one time was an avid outdoors-man, and especially enjoyed duck hunting. He was a cotton farmer most of his life, and took great pride in hard work. He was also president of the Caldwell Parish Farm Bureau, Chairman of the ASCS Office, on the board of directors at Four Forks Gin, worked surveying pipelines, and in the last few years, he established a small lawn care service.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Charles, Isaac, and George McClanahan; his sisters: Ouida McClanahan, Laura Belle Pardue, and Annie VaLois Goins.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Dallas Shane McClanahan (Tiffany) of Slidell, Louisiana, Dustin Lee Mclanahan of Hebert, Louisiana, and Cody Lea McClanahan (Ma'Kaela) of Hebert, Louisiana; his grandchildren: Jonathan McClanahan, Tiffany Leonard, Landon McClanahan, Natalie McClanahan, and Kate McClanahan; his great-grandchildren: Jackson, Jillian, and Aaiden; his brother, R.B. McClanahan; and his sisters: Gwen Brown, Edna Godwin, Vera Wood, Maxine Duchesne, and Margie Roberts.
Dan was an honest, hardworking man and will be greatly missed.
Private graveside services are being held under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.
