Funeral service for Daisy Garrett Fuqua, 81 of Columbia will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2017 from the sanctuary of Olla Apostolic Pentecostal Church with Rev. Donnie Boney officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Daisy Garrett Fuqua was born on January 27, 1935 at Pike City, Arkansas to the union of her parents Stewart Garrett and Mattie Sue Holcomb Garrett and she passed from this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Rev. Lee Roy Fuqua and by a son, David Wayne Fuqua.
Sister Daisy as she was affectionately called worked with her husband as they ministered together as a team for their Lord Jesus Christ. They built several churches in their career and pastored other numerous churches as well. Sister Fuqua was an author of several books and had a wonderful talent for singing praises to her Lord, all the while with a very humble spirit. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Jerry Fuqua and wife, Shirley of Columbia, Stanley Fuqua and wife, Laverne of Walker, LA and Ben Fuqua and wife, Eva of Columbia; her daughter, Janet Fuqua of Texas; her brother, Billy Garrett and wife, Pat of Nashville, Arkansas; and her sister, Hazel Cox of Glenwood, Arkansas; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
