Funeral services for Chris Lamar Gates, age 61 of Columbia, LA, will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 5, 2013 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA with Bro. Jesse Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Eros, LA. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9 AM until time of service at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA. Mr. Gates was born on February 17, 1952 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents: Delmar and Gladys Erdell Griggs Gates and passed from this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Bobby Gates. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Suzanne Gates of Columbia; two sons: Derek Lamar Gates and wife, Crystal and Dustin Christopher Gates and fiancée, Melinda Miles both of Jonesboro; sister, Wanda Young and husband, Danny of Bossier; two grandchildren: Lana Maelin Gates and Adam Cloud Gates; nieces and nephews: David Arnold and wife, Laura, Josh Arnold, Shirley Gates, Kristi Fife, Deanna Shively and husband, David; Baylee Hanson and Bryce Hanson and numerous friends. Pallbearers will be Tommy Hemphill, Bryan Hebert, Bobby Black, Roger Craighead, David Manuel and Tim Clark.
