Charlie V. Wyant

Funeral services for Charlie V. Wyant age 91 of Columbia will be held 11 AM Tuesday December 31, 2019 from the sanctuary of Holum Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Holum Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The family will receive visitors on Monday December 30 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and on Tuesday December 31, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Charlie V. Wyant was born on January 4, 1928 to the union of his parents Henry Denious Wyant and Amy Cassels Wyant . Charlie went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 27, 2019, at the age of 91. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents , the mother of his children, Cora Lee Childress Wyant, his sister Verena Wyant McKee, brothers, H.D. Wyant, Archie Wyant, Pleasant Henry Wyant, James Earl Wyant, Barney Maloy Wyant, Clyde Dewayne Wyant, and Ray Benjamin Wyant. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Ellen Oliveaux Wyant. Mr. Charlie served Caldwell Parish on the Caldwell Parish School Board, was an active member of Holum Baptist Church and he served his country in the United States Army as a Ski Trooper. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, by his first marriage, Ronnie Wyant (Pat), Therion Wyant (Mary) Jamie Wyant (Linda), brother, Calvin Ray Wyant. His grandchildren: Spencer Roberts (Allison), Nicole Wyant, Meghan Wyant Marak (Issy), Crystal Duff, Jana Steele (Dusty), Angela Wyant, Chris Wyant, Stephanie Wyant Sallas, Michael Wyant (Naomi), Rebekah Wyant Skingley (Patrick), April Wyant Schramm (Erik); twenty three great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one son by his second marriage, Aubrey Wyant and his special friend Dianne Duke. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Wyant, Chris Wyant, Lee Wyant, Terry Paul Cassels, Gary Cassels and Randall Cassels. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Curtis and Danny Nugent. December 27 will always be a significant date for Charlie's three sons. On Friday , December 27, 1985 their mother , Cora Lee Childress Wyant went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior. It was also the Lord's plan for Charlie to join his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 27, 2019. It was a sweet day on that Friday for Charlie was calling for his Lord and Cora Lee.
