Charles E. Lasiter

Funeral services for Charles E. Lasiter, age 67, of Kelly, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 27, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Scott Smith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Olla. Charles was born September 16, 1947 to Howard and Mary Johns Lasiter in Wilmar, AR and he passed from this life on February 23, 2015 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was a hardworking logging contractor for 44 years. He was also a cattle and timber farmer. He served his country in the Army and loved to work in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Nelda Jean Smith Lasiter of Kelly; four sons: Clayton Shane Lasiter and his wife Sharon of Olla; John Mark Lasiter and his wife Mary of Monticello, AR; Jimmy D. Morrison of Olla; Brandon Morrison and his wife Sundeep of Los Angeles, CA; five brothers and sisters: Marvin and Brenda Lasiter of Warren, AR; Ben and Peggy Lasiter of Wilmar, AR; Tim and Teacy Lasiter of Tullos; Linda and Tommy Derryberry of Monticello, AR; Irma and Alvin James of Monticello, AR; nine grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dean Delancey, Bradly McDowell, Jim Colvin, Buster Mullins, Teddy May, Lester Smith, Charlie Brown, and Ronnie Boyett. Honorary Pallbearers will be the crews of Lasiter Logging and Shane Lasiter Timber.
