Funeral Services For Mr. Charles Robert Jewell age 70 of Winnsboro will be held 2:00pm Tuesday August 9, 2011 from the sanctuary of the Clarks United Pentecostal Church at Clarks with Rev. Wesley Manning officiating.Visitation will be on Monday evening at the church from 4pm until 9pm. Interment will follow in the Boeuf Prairie Cemetery at Fort Necessity. Services are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Charles Robert Jewell was born on January 28, 1941 in Franklin Parish to the union of his parents Charles Aubrey Jewell and Mary Doris Talbert Jewell. He passed from this life on Saturday August 6, 2011 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles was a retired Correctional Officer with Louisiana State Penitentiary having reached the rank of Major. He was an active Board Member of the Clarks United Pentecostal Church in Clarks. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife Betty Jones Jewell of Winnsboro. Two sons: Charles Ray Jewell and wife Rhonda; and Kenneth Dale Jewell all of Winnsboro; two grandsons, Jesse James Jewell and Christopher Dale Jewell both of Winnsboro; a step great-grand daughter, MaKayla Sharrae Jones. He also leaves two sisters, Helen Speegle and Renee Stapleton and husband Chuck all of Grayson; two brothers, James Jewell and wife Irene , and Clifford Jewell and wife Ann; all of Columbia. Charles also leaves his life long friend Bo Spikes of Columbia. Pallbearers include James Moore, Roland Garcia, Glen Gallagher, Eddie Ray Bryan, Harris "Pee Wee" Beckley, and Johnny Brown. Honorary pallbearers include Bo Spikes, Ray Bryan, and Sonny Man Moore.
