"Fluky," as he was called his entire life, was a lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish, born to the union of his parents, Charles Braddock and Wanda Maloy Chamblee. Fluky passed from this life September 16, 2022. Fluky can be described as a kind and generous man who truly loved his family, friends, and most everyone he came across.
He was a game warden for 20 years. He then went to work for Kelly Water for many years and considered the people on his water system his friends. He felt the same way about driving his school bus for the school system. He adored the ladies and gentlemen who drove the other buses and considered them his "school family." The principals and teachers he dealt with daily were so well thought of by Fluky. But, most of all, he loved those children who rode his bus! He talked about them constantly. He had 3 little girls who were new in pre-school this year who sat behind him and he would have brought them home if possible.
Fluky was so proud of his own family: his wife Randy, his son Michael who meant everything to him, his beloved daughter-in-law Bethany, and the light of his heart, his grandson Jack and granddaughter Amelia.
All of these things brought joy to his life. He had other interests, his cattle and horses, his hayfields, deer hunting, horseback riding, and hog hunting with his closest friends as they prayed, joked and enjoyed each love. But his one true love was Jesus Christ. With one and all he needed to share Him. This was his calling, his purpose above all other things. He loved his church family with all his heart and couldn't help it when he had to add "just a little extra" to a sermon or discussion. Obviously, his life was full, but his love for Jesus Christ superseded anything else.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Braddock and his wife, May Dean Braddock; his beloved grandparents, Sam and Myrtle Braddock; his "brother," Raymond Franklin; his brother, Bob Braddock, and his step-father, Dan Chamblee.
Those left to remember him are his wife of 46 years, Randy Boyles Braddock; son, Michael Braddock; daughter-in-law, Bethany Braddock; his grandchildren, Jack and Amelia Braddock; mother, Wanda Chamblee; sisters: Gaye Chamblee Brown, Becky Chamblee Daniel, and Pam Braddock Duarte; a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Braddock, Eddie Dunn, Clay Bennett, Bryan Bryant, Courtney Dunn, and Ricky Grant. Honorary pallbearers are Clint Warner, David Earl Varnell, Jerry Bailey, Sonny King, David Gregory, Benny Douglas, Ellis Spangler, and Scott Meredith.
