Funeral services for Mrs. Cecile McLain Whitstine age 88 of Columbia will be held 2pm Friday from the sanctuary of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle at Grayson with Pastor Rev. Sherman Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery west of Columbia. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 3 to 9pm at the church located on Highway 165 south of Grayson. Born Cecile Amanda McLain on July 26, 1922 here in Caldwell Parish, she met and married the love of her life Virgil Edward "Boo" Whitstine and from this union six children were born. Mrs. Whitstine was preceded in death by her husband, her son Mark Whitstine, and by her parents. Cecile was known for her humble spirit, her constant sweet smile, and her loving personality. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a wonderful wife, mother,grandmother, and friend to all. Mrs. Whitstine is survived by her son: Buddy Whitstine of Columbia. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Georgia Couvillion of Grayson; Donna Dickey and her husband Don of Banks Springs; Diane Purdy and husband Gerald of West Monroe; and Yvonne McCarty of West Monroe. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Jerry Glenn, Derrick, Darlene, Vicky, Dale, Kimberly, Keith, Angela, Joshua, and Matt. Ten great-grandchildren: Lisa, Greg, Brittany, Maverick, Troy, Brandon, Avery, Blaine, Brayden, and Brock; and three great great grandchildren.
