Funeral services for Cathy Beckley will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2024, from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will have visitation at the church on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Cathy Lucille Parkerson Beckley was born May 26, 1952, in Fresno, CA to the union of her parents, Thomas A. Parkerson and Jo Murrey Parkerson, and she passed from this life Tuesday, April 2, 2024, after a brief illness at Citizens Medical Center, Columbia. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.C. "Beaver" Beckley; her son, Dewayne Beckley; grandson, Codye Mardis; and sister, Norma Jo Spruell. Cathy worked for several years in the classroom for the Caldwell Parish school system. She truly enjoyed working with students, helping them learn. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew and quilt. She opened her own business "The Quilt Shop" after leaving the school system. Cathy was a strong woman and always straightforward. She had a heart of gold and so many people loved her. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family fiercely, especially her great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Steve Beckley (Julie), Darren Beckey, and Harold Beckley; brother, Tink Parkerson (Kathy); sister, Renae Cubbit; grandchildren: Hunter Beckley (Kaylee), Cole Beckley (Christin), Ashley Mulder, Hogan Beckley (Brooke), Hollen Emmons (D.J.), Cameron Beckley (Rainy), Caden Beckley, Kaitlyn Beckley, Jenna Beckley, Nicole Beckley, Hannah Claire Beckley, and Abby Beckley; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Beckley, Cameron Beckley, Hogan Beckley, Caden Beckley, Cole Beckley, and Preston Crain. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Richmond, Joey O'Neal, Lance Crain, Charles Caraway, Laquentin Wesley, Ben Beckley, Zach Beckley, and Robert Gambino.
