Carolyn Escalon

Funeral services for Carolyn Richmond Escalon, age 71 of Columbia will be held 2pm Wednesday January 2, 2013 from the sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church, west of Columbia, with Rev. Brian Rankin and Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan delivering the Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery with services under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Fellowship Baptist Church from 4pm until time of service Wednesday. Carolyn Louise Richmond Escalon was born on May 28, 1941 in Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, Herbert Aaron Richmond and Bertha Mae Boyd Richmond. She left this life on Saturday December 29, 2012 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Carolyn was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She served in her church faithfully, being a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Laura Richmond Latapie and Milton Latapie; her brother, Louis Aaron "Rick" Richmond; and a granddaughter, Destiny Faith Escalon. Her beloved family who are left to cherish her memory include, her husband of 55 years, Manuel Escalon of Columbia; two sons, Timothy Manuel Escalon I and Delores Bailey of Monroe; and Mark Steven Escalon I of Columbia; two daughters, Cheryl Escalon of Columbia; and Angela Escalon Knight of Columbia; her sister-in-law, Sandra Watts Richmond of Columbia; her brothers-in-law, Raymond Escalon and wife, Juanita , and Johnny Escalon and wife, Carol, all of Monroe; and four special friends, Betty Carr, Carolyn Johnson, Faye Cutler, and Dottie Fortado. She also leaves her grandchildren who were the light of her life. They include Timothy Manuel Escalon II, serving out of England Air Force Base in California; Kori Escalon Kirkland and Bret of Pineville, LA; Michael Shea Masoner and Anita of Shreveport, LA; Jarrod Masoner and Kristen of Hahnville,LA; Aaron and Ashley Faust of Birmingham, AL and John Wesley Brockner of Cleveland, TX; Mark Steven Escalon II and wife, Nicole, of Kelly; Jacob Floyd "Bo" Escalon of Grayson; Matt Knight and Amber of Columbia, and Coltin Knight of Columbia She was especially proud of her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Justice, Jaden, Donald, Mia, and Rhea Masoner; Gavin and Jace Masoner; Quinn and Kash Escalon; Natalie Ann Kirkland; Rayleigh and Kyson Knight; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, other family members, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and her grand-daughter. Honorary pallbearers include Timothy Manuel Escalon II and great-grandsons Joshua and Justice Masoner .
