Carl Lavern Posey, age 86 was born August 14, 1929 at Aimwell to the union of his parents, John Dosher and Elzano Ashley Posey.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, worked selling auto parts in various places. He was known as “Red.” He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He leaves behind his wife, Jessie Mae Hickingbottom Posey, one daughter and her husband, Onessia and Bobby Sandifer, two granddaughters, Marietta White of Baton Rouge and Andrea Hayman and husband, Don of Baton Rouge, and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, John Dosher Posey, Jr. and Charles Allen Posey and a granddaughter, Tiffany White.
His funeral will be held at Urania Pentecostal Church at 5 PM on Friday, May 20, 2016 with Bro. Clay Hutto, Bro. Daryl Floyd and Bro. Russell Lormand officiating. The wake will be Friday at the church from 2:30 PM until time of services under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla and will be laid to rest 9 AM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Harris Chapel Cemetery near Olla.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
