Funeral services for Cameron C. Carr, age 80 of Georgetown, will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Frank Autry officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, west of Columbia.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Riser Funeral Home from 9 AM until time of services.
Mr. Carr was born on August 25, 1936 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Sylvester and Rosie Byrde Carr and passed from this life on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Canterbury House in Alexandria, LA.
Cameron served in the US Merchant Mariners. He retired as an electrician with the State of Louisiana. He attended Dry Prong First Baptist Church. His hobbies included songwriting and music and in his earlier years he had a band.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ronald Carr, Ernest Carr and Horace Carr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jimmy Carr and wife, Janie of Georgetown; three step-sons: Gene Autry of Portland, OR, Frank Autry and wife, Belinda of Denton, TX and Jeff Autry and wife, Diane of Slidell, LA; step-daughter, Sharon McLain and husband, Danny of Columbia; three brothers: David Carr of Columbia, Donald Carr of OR and Junior Carr or Columbia; four sisters: Minnie Lindsey of Monroe, Ruby Ingles of Winnfield, Audrey Odom of Winnfield and Ruth Carr of Alexandria and granddaughter, Kelli Carr.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carr, Jeff Autry, Frank Autry, Jeremy Lee, Chris Fredericks, Bryan Bryant, Jr. and Hunter Murphy.
