Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Darden Tarver, age 79 of Columbia, will be 10AM Friday, July 3, 2009 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Harriman officiating. Christopher Wright will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165. A much loved mother, and grandmother, Bonnie Darden Tarver was born on September 9, 1929 in Grayson, LA to the union of her parents, Leslie Lamar Darden and Linnie Stott Darden. She passed from this life on June 30, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital North in Monroe. Bonnie and her husband, Jarvis were longtime cattlemen and farmers. They were for the most part lifetime residents of Caldwell Parish. They owned and operated Tarver's Columbia Texaco until their retirement in the late 1990's. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Jarvis Dalton Tarver, her son-in-law, Al Wright, her brothers: Archie Lamar Darden and Odis Darden, half-brother, Corbitt Peterson and her half sister, Nina Peterson. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Linda Tarver Wright of Denham Springs, grandson, Chris Wright of Monroe who shared so much quality time with his grand mother as she mentored him in life, granddaughter, Lynette Wright Lee and husband, Caleb of Denham Springs, LA her sister-in-law, Willie Dean Darden of Columbia and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
