Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbye Mae Powell Hendrix, age 76 of Kelly, will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 30, 2010 from the sanctuary of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Clarks with Bro. Keith Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Kelly. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the church from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Hendrix was born in Kelly, LA to the union of Jesse and Maudie McBroom Powell and went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She held many jobs through life including working for Hardtner Medical Center, cooking on a tug boat then cleaning homes. She enjoyed going to the ballparks to watch her grandchildren play baseball and softball. Ms. Bobbye was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Elijah Hiram Hendrix, son; Tommy Hendrix, daughter-in-law; Laurel Hendrix and grandson; Brandon Taylor. Survivors include her two sons: Elijah Dale Hendrix and wife, Sheila of Hebert, Edmond Glenn "Gunny" Hendrix and wife, Carla of Columbia, daughter; Rhonda Ratcliff and husband, Ricky of Grayson, special sons: Harry Swedlund and wife, Sabrina of Breckenridge, TX, Dewayne Heckel Holt of Jacksonville, FL and Connie Mack "B-line" Exline of Clarks, special daughter; Debbie May of Grayson, two sisters: Jessie Mae Martin of Columbia and Annie Mae Mitchell of West Monroe, ten grandchildren: Shannon Dale Hendrix and wife, Tessa, Kimberly Thomas, Carol Ann May, Shasta Ratcliff, Savannah Ratcliff, Waylon Hendrix, Jon Cader and wife, Misty, T.G. Hendrix, Presley Hendrix and Kaci Wilks, ten great-grandchildren: Cole Hendrix, Cameron Hendrix, Courtnie Frazier, Drew Frazier, Anna Hunt, Addalyn Howard, Alexis Thomas, Aaliyah Thomas, Jon Michael Cader and Dorrian Gagne, special friends: Jimmy Murphy, Marlene Hatten, Rose Hemphill, Mary McDaniel, Mary Franklin, Ruth Kinnison and Diane Pitre and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends. Pallbearers will be Shane Hendrix, Waylon Hendrix, Jon Cader, T.G. Hendrix, Brad Meredith and B.J. Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Buster Mullin, Harrison McMillan, Buster Martin, Bob Pardue, Bud Kinnison and Derek Pauley.
