Graveside funeral services for Bobby Gene "Bob" Harrison age 74 of Holum will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday April 29, 2014 at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson with the Rev. Jeff Masters officiating. Visitation will be on Monday April 28, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Riser Funeral Home chapel located at 7131 U S Highway 165 in Columbia. Bob Harrison was born on December 5, 1939 at Lapanto, Arkansas to the union of Jerome Buford Harrison and Myrtle Gertrude Stovall Harrison, and passed from this life on April 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his daughter: Barbara Jean Harrison Mabry, and by his brothers: J.B. Harrison, Jerry Harrison, and Billy Ray "Hobo" Harrison. Bob served as water superintendent for the Holum Water System for some thirty plus years and served as a Volunteer Fireman with the Grayson Volunteer Fire Department. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors, as did his brothers. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart and life. Left to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of fifty two years, Bobbie Rider Harrison of Holum, his son: Donnie Harrison and wife Melody of Grayson, his daughter: Bonnie Harrison Johnston of Grayson, his sister: Betty Milton and husband Ben of Shreveport, his grandchildren: Ashley Crawford and husband Phil, Paige Johnston, Dusty Johnston, Jacob Hatten, Blake Harrison, Landon Harrison, Gunner Harrison, and Noah Harrison; and his great grandchildren: Hallie Crawford, Heidi Crawford, and one on the way, Brentan McMurray. Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Johnston, Jacob Hatten, Blake Harrison, Landen Harrison, Gunner Harrison, Noah Harrison, Donald Masters, Clay Bennett, David Mabry, Phil Crawford, and Joey McMurray. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Perot, J.R. Carnahan, Cliff Murphy, Edward Malcomb, Mark Harrison, Jimmy Duff, James McDaniel, Billy Warner and Lance Crain. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Grayson Volunteer Fire Department, Grayson, LA.
