Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Simmons Vickers, age 86 of Olla, LA  will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday November 2, 2022 from the Olla chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery near Sikes. The Vickers Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Bobbie Jean Vickers was born on October 19, 1936 at Sikes, Louisiana to the union of Grady Simmons and Opal Underwood Simmons and she passed from this life on October 31, 2022 at the Hardtner Medical Center in Olla . Mrs. Vickers was preceded in death by husband  Hugh M. " Skeeter" Vickers; and by her parents; also by her daughter, Linda Kaye Carter and daughter-in-law: Peggy Vickers She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to sew, loved quilting and needlework. She also loved to garden. To know her was to love her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Steve Vickers and wife Becky of Olla; her sister: Geraldine Gibson of Sikes and her beloved grandchildren: Eric Carter, Justin Carter (Sam), Randy Carter (Paulette), Timmy Vickers (Victoria), Ryne Vickers (Sydney) Justin Shell (Konni) and J.D. Shell and a host of great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Carter, Justin Carter, Randy Carter, Timmy Vickers, Ryne Vickers and Justin Shell.
