Funeral services for Bobbie Ray Stott, age 82, of Olla will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2020 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Olla. Interment will follow in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla. The Stott Family will receive visitors on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at the church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Bobbie Ray Stott was born on June 6, 1937 at Olla, LA to the union of his parents, Norman Ellis Stott, Sr and Joyce Inez Steen Stott and he passed from this life on February 20, 2020 at the Savannah Grand Retirement and Assisted Living Community in West Monroe following an extended illness.
Mr. Stott was preceded in death by his parents. He was a graduate of Northwestern State University where he obtained his teaching degree and taught in the Grant Parish School System for seven years. After leaving the school system, Bobbie began working for his father in the family logging business, Stott Wood Company, in 1965. After the death of his parents in 1991, Bobbie purchased the family business and continued to manage it until his retirement in 2002 upon which time his sons purchased the business. The company is now owned and operated by his sons and grandsons. Bobbie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Olla.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife of sixty-one years, Sarah King Stott, of Olla; his sons: Randy Stott (Dawn) and Ricky Stott (Becky) all of Olla; his daughter, Renee Prince (Tommy) of Jena; brother, Norman Ellis Stott (Linda) of Newberry, Florida; his sister, Brenda Ivy (Mike) of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Heather Wilks, Devann Warner, Bryce Stott, Raegan Stott, Spencer Stott, Shelbi Prince and Tandi Prince; and twelve great-grandchildren: Rowan, Zeplyn, and Parrish Wilks, Rhett, Lincoln, Cutler, and Eli Warner, Landon Stott and Brayden Tannehill, Rylee and Raeleigh Stott and MaeLeigh Prince.
Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Barnhill, Kerry Franklin, Chris Harris, Richie King, Steven McBroom, Randy McCarty, Craig Parham, and Joel Sims. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Harris, Mark King, Mike King, Richard King, Gary Taylor, and Chris Barnhill.
In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Olla, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
