Funeral services for Bishop Roy Glen Lowery will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 15, 2021, from the sanctuary of Grace Pointe, 1905 Auburn Ave., Monroe, LA with Bishop John Wesley Jones and Bishop Bennie Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Woolen Lake Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from noon to 2 PM.
Bishop Roy Glen Lowery was born November 1, 1951 in Rayville, LA to the union of his parents, Glen E. Lowery and Hilda Drewry Lowery, and he passed to his heavenly home May 12, 2021, at Monroe, LA. Roy Glen worked many years for the Department of Transportation as an Environmental Impact Specialist before retiring. Throughout his life he served his community as a minister. He loved the ministry and touched the lives of so many people. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Roy loved his family, adored his grandchildren, and was a faithful servant of his Lord. He was a fine man who was respected by so many people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years, Fredericka "Ricky" Wheeler Lowery; his children: Sara Carter (Dwayne) and Caleb Lowery (Julia); grandchildren: Cade McClanahan, Heath Carter, Gracie Lowery, and Ashlynn Lowery; brothers: Jerry Lowery (Joanne), Terry Lowery (Linda), and Randall Lowery (Kim); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Lowery, Jonathan Moseley, Bryan Lowery, Lance Fife, Ricky Fife, and Chris Vinson. Honorary pallbearers are Cade McClanahan, Gary Jones, Dwayne Carter, and Jimbo Fuller.
