Billy Whittington

Funeral Services for Billy O. Whittington, 89, of Monroe, formerly of Clarks, will be held at 10 AM Monday September 12, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Marty Kutz officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Billy was born February 16, 1922 to William and Ethel Whittington in Clarks and he passed from this life on September 10, 2011 at his residence. He served his country during WWII in the Navy. He was a retired truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an avid gardener who loved spending time with his family and he loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Ruby Irene Dunn. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Myrtle Clarice Whittington; three sons: David O. Whittington and his wife Elaine; Tommy Glenn Whittington and his wife Debbie; Raymond Whittington and his wife Ronda; two daughters: Barbara Whittington Rawls and her husband Don; Sheila Whittington Welch and her husband Ray; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Micah Rawls, Shane Rawls, Daniel Whittington, Clint Whittington, Don Rawls, Ray Welch, Raymond Hanna, and Richard Chapman.
