Billy A. Talley

Funeral services for Billy A. Talley will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Olla First Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Phillips officiating and Bro. Dennis Baker assisting. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Olla First Baptist Church.

Billy A. Talley was born March 26, 1932, in Monroe, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Albert Nelson Talley and Vivian Harris Talley, and he passed from this life on March 11, 2023, at Rapides Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Billy was a good man and a hard worker. In his younger days he enjoyed playing golf and baseball. Billy liked fishing, having picnics on the river, growing gourds, playing cards, and spending time with his family. Billy graduated from LaSalle High School in 1951, afterwards he attended Louisiana Tech University before joining the United States Air Force. Billy worked in the Oil Field until he started working with his father at the Olla Monument Company which he later purchased in the early seventies.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann Talley; brother, Bobby Talley; sister, Bessie Talley; sons: Stephen Kyle Talley and Joe Bill Talley; and his daughter, Mauri Ann Talley.

Those left to cherish his memory is his son, Jason Talley (Kristie), of Olla, LA.; his daughter, Tamie Edzards (Dean), of Altus, OK.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Talley, Matthew Talley, Ben Talley, Ryland Taylor, Cooper Talley, and Jack Taylor.
