Billy Wayne Foster, Sr. was born June 6, 1939 in Urania, LA, to the union of his parents, Jewell Helen Neal Foster and Travis Monroe Foster, and he passed from this life May 8, 2024, in Urania. Billy loved to fish, hunt, camp, dance, and tell jokes. He was a mechanic by trade but he loved to work on vehicles in his free time too. If you were around while he was underneath the hood working, he would have you holding a flashlight so he could see what he was doing. His calloused hands were a reminder of the hard work he had put in. He always said "there's a time to play and there's a time to work." He lived by those words as well. He was a selfless man with a heart of gold that never expected anything in return and he was loved by many people. He always looked at special occasions as just another day but to us it was another memory made. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was truly loved and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerry Wayne Foster; sisters, Sybil Loraine Cantrell and Willie Mae Foster; and brother, Fred Francis Foster.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Jeff Foster (Sherry), Vicky Lynn Foster, Cecil E. Stapleton, Susan Bynog (Roy), Billy W. Foster, Jr., David Foster, Sr. (Sara), and Ray Foster; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Raspberry, Wesley Raspberry, Holden Raspberry, Josh McBroom, Chuck Woodruff, and Allen Street. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Raspberry and Mike Bishop.
