Billy Buckalew

Services for Mr. Billy Wayne Buckalew will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in the Chapel of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia with Rev. Chuck Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery of Rosefield. Visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm Tuesday, August 11 and from 8am until time of services in the Chapel on Tuesday. Mr. Buckalew, 72, of Kelly, was born on Dec. 21, 1936 to the union of Frank and Nettie Cruse Buckalew and passed from this life on Sunday, August 9, 2009 in St. Francis Medical Center of Monroe, LA. He was a mechanic in the oilfield for many years and owned and operated a wrecker service. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Buckalew. Survivors include his sons, Marvin Buckalew and wife Penny of Kelly; Wayne Buckalew and wife Pat of Kelly; Glen Sikes of Oakdale. Daughter, Susie Cox and husband Stuart of Tullos. Brother, Raymond Carl Buckalew of Kelly.Grandchildren, Raeghan Buckalew, Melissa Moore, Michelle Scroggs, Mandy Buckalew, Robert and Amanda Miniard, Jennifer and Crystal Buckalew, Michaela and Wesley Cox; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be Marvin Buckalew, Damian Moore, Shawn Moore, Robert Miniard, Steven McNemar, Jason Moore, Rodney Jordan . Honorary pallbearer will be David Scroggs.
