Bettye Sue Hearns

Bettye Sue Hearns was born in Columbia, La on July 26, 1941 to the union of her parents, Grover Starks and Onieda Brown and passed from this life February 7, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. 

Bettye was a hard worker, and a loving mother. She was not only a mother to her children, but all the other children around as well. She loved playing bingo, dominoes, crocheting, and traveling. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Starks and Onieda Brown and Warner and Alberta Brown; husband, Eddie Van Hearns; and a host of other family members. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Suzanne Hearns, and Physlea Neal; her three brothers, Larry, James, and Grover; grandchildren, Jessica Brooks (Donnie), Hayley Henderson (Jalen), Asia Neal (TJ), Centarius Donald; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tre, McKenlee, Maverick, Aailyah; nephews, Tony Gray, John Brown (Jr (Joann), niece, Vickie Brown; special friends, John and Penny Robinson, Rashanda, Monique, Reese; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Bettye wishes were to be cremated and the family is honoring her decision. No arrangements have been made at this time. Please continue to pray for the family.
