Betty Lucille Moses

Funeral services for Betty Lucille "Lucy" Moses will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from the sanctuary of Holum Baptist Church, Holum, LA, with Bro. Shane Duke officiating and Bro. Tommy Prince assisting. Interment will follow at Hebert Cemetery, Hebert, LA under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. The family will have a visitation at the church on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Lucy was born April 12, 1940, in Chase, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Warren Gene Currington and Cecile Pippins Currington, and she passed away July 15, 2024, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lisa Moses McCurdy; granddaughter, Tasha Diane Moses; sisters, Dorothy Hudnall and Viola Jones; brother, Leon Currington; and son-in-law, James Loveless. Lucy was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet and she never met a stranger. She loved to visit with everyone, everywhere she went. Lucy enjoyed being outside whether she was working in her yard raising pretty flowers or fishing. She and her husband, Kenneth, loved going to garage sales and flea markets together. Her family was her greatest joy. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren and she loved them without measure.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 67 years, Kenneth B. Moses; her daughters, Susie Moses Lee (Morris Lizenby) and Tammy Moses Loveless; her sons, Terry Moses (Mary Jane) and Bubba Moses (Laura); sisters: Mary Albritton (Gene), Alice Carriere, and Lillie Lutrick; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nickie Currington, Cameron Lee, Dalton Moses, Cole Lee, Dakota Lee, and Lex Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Foy and Peyton Fowler.
