Riser Funeral Home Olla, LA Funeral services for Bessie Lea Farrington age 93 of Olla will be held 2pm Tuesday February 8, 2011 from the sanctuary of Pine Hill Baptist Church at Urania with Rev. David McGuffee officiating. Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery at Kelly. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Riser Funeral Home in Olla, and again on Tuesday at the funeral home from 8am until 11am , and from 12 noon until time of service at the church. Bessie Lea Farrington was born on May 1, 1917 in Winn Parish to the union of her parents Luther Monroe Dunn and Sarah Elizabeth McNaughton Dunn. She passed from this life on Saturday February 5, 2011 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edison Farrington, by her parents, her great grand son Christopher Lynn Simons, and by her sisters Jewell McCartney and Berniece Hatten. She was an active member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and a retired beauty operator. Survivors include: Son: Ronnie Farrington and wife Gladys of Olla. Daughter: Sandra Wilson and husband Curtis of Alvin, Texas. Six grandchildren: Lea Ann Farrington Simons, Sandra Michiel Farrington Gremillion, Ron Farrington, Eric Christopher Farrington, Sherri Wilson Booz, and Jeff Wilson, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers include: Ron Farrington, Eric Farrington, Jeff Wilson, Ben Booz, Lynn Simons, and Jimmy McCartney.
