Barbie Rae Blackwell Shipp was born on December 1, 1964 in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana to the union of her parents, the late John Dorsey Blackwell and Mary Murphy Blackwell. She passed from this life on June 4, 2024 at the Union General Hospital In Farmerville following an extended illness. Barbie was a Care Giver and loved to help others. She was an animal lover and was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Thomas Blackwell and her sister Phyllis Ann Blackwell and her precious fur babies, Baby Girl and Hooch.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, John Shipp (Shanda) of Hillsboro, West Virginia and her daughter Danielle Shipp of Downsville; her sister, Shirley Wall (Norwood) of Downsville and her granddaughter, Memory Faith Shipp and a host of cousins and other family members.

Memorial Services will be held at a later time.
