Avice Varnell

Services for Avice Ainsworth Varnell, 79, will be held 2pm Saturday March 14, 2009, from Clarks United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jack McKeithen, Sr. and Rev. Wesley Manning officiating. Interment will follow in the Lowe Cemetery of Kelly. Visitation will be from 4pm Friday until time of services Saturday at the Church. Mrs. Varnell was born on December 13, 1929 in Columbia to the union of James Bennie and Bessie Mae Cupples Ainsworth. She passed from this life on Thursday, March 12, 2009 in St. Francis Medical Center of Monroe. She was a homemaker and a member of Clarks United Pentecostal Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, "Dock " Varnell. Survivors include her sons, James Varnell of Columbia; Wayne Varnell of Columbia; Sid Varnell of Hebert; Billy Varnell of Kelly; Gearld Wren Varnell of Grayson; daughters, Evelyn Corley of Winnfield, Helen Faye Anderson of Winnsboro, Avice Marie McCoy of Koscioko Mississippi; brothers, Hugh Ainsworth of West Monroe, Marion Ainsworth of Clarks, Marvin Ainsworth of Texas; sisters, Lillie Stone of Columbia, Alma Vestal of Columbia; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be Huey Stone, Roland Garcia and Joey Freeman.
