Autry Eugene Reid, Sr.

Autry Eugene Reid, Sr. was born February 8, 1949, at Winnfield, LA and passed away at his home in Columbia, LA on February 18, 2022, just days after his 73rd birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Autry Reid and Clotiel Virginia Reid. Autry contracted polio as a child and despite the physical limitations it caused he led a full and productive life. Autry was a tow boat Captain for nearly thirty years. He was a hard worker and a loving husband and father who always took care of his family. He was a typical Louisiana outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Autry raised several dogs through the years and always loved them dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Imogene Williams Reid; sons: Autry Reid, Jr., Michael Reid (Christina), and Kevin Reid; sisters: Judy Smith (William), Pat Hogg, and Susie Latham; grandchildren: Natalie and Ethan Reid, Hilary Weeks (Caleb), Heather Stapleton (Michael), and Hope Reid; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. 

The family has chosen cremation to honor the wishes of Autry. No memorial services are planned at this time.
