Funeral services for Ricky Guerrero age 49 of Lafayette and formerly of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Monday November 11, 2024 from the sanctuary of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro, with Bro Timothy Parker and Bro. Matthew Hutto officiating, Interment will immediately follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Guerrero Family will receive visitors on Sunday November 10 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home and on Monday at the church from 9:00 AM until time of service.
Ricky Guerrero was born on July 25, 1975 at Columbia, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Arturo Guerrero and Debbie Scott Guerrero and passed from this life on November 7, 2024 at his residence in Lafayette following a brief illness. Ricky was a loving son, brother and grandson who loved his family tremendously. He had a great sense of humor and an abundance of faith. Because of his daddy's farming legacy, he loved all things John Deere. He had a very large collection of John Deere memorabila Ricky graduated from Caldwell Parish High School in 1994. He worked in management in several places including General Manager at the ULM Bookstore, General Manager at Titlemax, General Manager at Safe Guard Self Storage, and General Manager at TMX Finance Family of Companies in Austin, Texas. His last General Management job was at Dickies BQ where he excelled in catering.
Ricky loved holidays, mainly Christmas. He was known for his cooking skills, especially his banana pudding. He had a very loving heart and was so giving never expecting anything in return.
His hobbies were wood-working, landscaping and cooking. He loved to make people laugh and be with his family and friends. Ricky was preceded in death by his grandparents Martin and Antonia Guerrero, Dolly and Pearl Scott and several aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Art and Debbie Guerrero, his only sibling, Tammy Houston (Gerald) and nephew Tracer Houston (Paige) and their daughter Briar Saige and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest Guerrero, JR, Paul Guerrero, Gerald Houston, Tracer Houston Phillip Hutto and Donald Hutto.
