Arthur "Wayne" Stamper was born December 13, 1954. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and family gatherings. Wayne was a very kind and gentle soul who will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Vick" Stamper, his mother, Artha "Mae" Stamper, brothers, William "Bill" Stamper and Dan Stamper all of Columbia.
Survived by his wife, Susan Stamper, they were married 20 years. He had two sisters, Rose Pitre and Iva Rabon and one brother, William "Sonny" Stamper.
Together, Wayne and Susan have five children, Christopher Stamper, Jennifer Mitchell, Aaron Holmes, Stacey Painter, and Betsy Townsend. They have 12 grandchildren.
Wayne had several nieces and nephews who were a special comfort to him, Cliff Stamper, Deanna Spangler, Dana Hilburn, and John Bohte, among others.
Wayne gave his life to God on August 6, 2015. Mrs. Erma Dark helped him with this process and has prayed daily with and for him to help him find his way with God.
His memorial will be held at Hebert Full Gospel Church, 75 Sullivan Road at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2015.
