Funeral services for Annie Lue Grisham Mercer, age 88 of Grayson will be held 9:30 AM Wednesday September 4, 2024 from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church at Grayson with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. The Mercer Family will receive visitors on Tuesday September 3, 2024 at the Cross Roads Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Local arrangments are under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Graveside interment services will follow at 4:00 PM Wednesday at the R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery at Silsbee , Texas under direction of R. S. Farmer Funeral Home.
Annie Mercer was born on June 12, 1936 at Clarks, LA to the union of her parents, the late Ira Alson "Dugan" Brown and Janice Rea McDaniel Brown. She passed from this life on August 30, 2024 at her residence in Grayson following an extended illness.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers: Bobby Brown and Ira Brown, JR. and two sisters: Betty Fort and Marilyn Vance. Annie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She truly enjoyed every day she was given in life and made the most of them
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Bobby Joe Mercer of Grayson; her daughter, Debbie Fitzgerald (Tom) of Magnolia, Texas; two sons; Gary Rash (Becky) Nederland, Texas and John Miller (Cheree) of Beach City, Texas; seven grandchildren, Clay Fitzgerald (Ashley), Jordan Rash (Lindsey), William Rash (Kandace), Tate Miller , Bray Miller; McKenzie Miller and Bryce Miller;two great-grandchildren, Elliott Rash and Lucy Rash; and a number of nieces and nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Fitzgerald, Jordan Rash, William Rash, Tate Miller, David Varnell, Freddy Mercer and Bray Miller. Honorary pallbearers include Pappy Cheneivert, Carl Dunn, Mike Grisham and Billy Vance.
