Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Mae Monroe Joyner, age 91 of Grayson, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 16, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Paul Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Riser Funeral Home from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mrs. Joyner was born on July 12, 1919 in Grayson, LA to the union of Robert "Bob" Monroe and Nettie Humphries Monroe and went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Mrs. Joyner was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. She loved her animals and helping people in her community. She loved the Lord and was a member of Grayson Baptist Church where she served her church family in various roles throughout her life. Mrs. Joyner enjoyed cooking and having people over to eat with her and she took food to those in her church. She was loved by her neighbors, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Ervin Joyner, son; Bobby Joe Joyner, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her daughter; Helen Isca and husband, Andy of Grayson, special friends: "Rosco" and Lorene Campbell and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Steve Joyner, Sam Joyner, Buddy Tarver, John Robert Monroe, Kenneth Monroe and John Holladay. Honorary pallbearers will be Huey Joyner, George Stamper, Stewart Joyner, Maynard Barnhill, Dennis Nugent and Howard Strebeck.
