Funeral services for Alma Louise Carter Gros, age 69, of Grayson will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2020 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Alma Louise Carter Gros was born on March 24, 1951 at Monroe, LA to the union of her parents Richard Edwin Carter and Mary Viva Childress Carter and she passed from this life on Monday July 6, 2020 at the Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her father.
Alma is survived by her mother, Mary Viva Childress Carter of Grayson, her sister, Celeste Carter Shaeffer, her sons, Robert B. Greer, III, Murray Joseph "Trey" Gros III, and daughter-in-law, Susan Gros all of Natchitoches. Other surviviors include her aunt, Mrs. Frances Fisher of Columbia, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members. Alma loved her family and was so looking forward to the birth of her grandson in October, Lucas James Gros.
Alma attended Natchitoches High School, Many High School, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Alma loved the Lord and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches, LA. Her later years were dedicated to the care of her mother and also her father until his passing. Special Thanks to Dr. Green, Father Okey, and the staff of Christus Highland Medical Center for their care and concern for Alma and her family during her illness.
