Albert Donnie “Don” Hatten, 81, of Hebert, LA, passed away on December 27, 2021. Don was born in Columbia, LA, to Rev. Ralph and Helen Hatten on November 7, 1940. He joined the Air Force in 1957 at age 17. He met the love of his life and married Marguerite Ann “Peggy” Hopkins in 1962. Don was an outstanding mechanic and he went above and beyond to help anyone in need. He loved to fish his yo-yo’s and drag race. He was an amazing Husband, Dad, and “Pawpaw”. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Ralph and Helen Hatten; wife, Peggy Hatten; and siblings, James Ray, Gene, and Billy Ray Hatten.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, William Hatten and wife, Michelle, and Andy Hatten and wife, Vicky; six grandchildren: Toni Hatten, Kayla Disotell and husband, Will, Valerie Hatten, Philip Hatten, Heather Hatten, and Miranda Hatten; four great grandchildren: Chase King, Jordan Willey, Sawyer Disotell, and Tucker Disotell; brother, Allen Hatten and wife, Maxine, sister, Joanne Hatten, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 4:30 PM, at the Burroughs Pentecostal Church, Columbia with Bro. Eric Andrews officiating. The Hatten Family will receive visitors beginning at 2:30 PM on Thursday as well.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Nelson, Kenneth Sweet, and Philip Hatten.
