Adelia Sandifer

Funeral services for Mrs. Adelia Netherland Sandifer, age 93 of Grayson, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 24, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jimmy Goodman and Bro. Pete McCarty officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jena. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Mrs. Sandifer was born on April 20, 1917 in Manifest, LA to the union of Thomas Bullard and Mary Massey Netherland and went to her Heavenly home on March 22, 2011 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Dallas Sandifer, daughter; Charlotte Evans, son; Thomas L. Sandifer, grandson; Donnie W. Evans, two brothers: Ellis Netherland and Samuel Netherland and four sisters: Annie Cowart, Marie Ford, Espy Ford and Eunice Richey. Survivors include her daughter; Myrtis Braddock and husband, Berl, daughter-in-law; Janie Sandifer, four grandsons and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Sandifer, Jack Sandifer, Dan Evans, Doug Powe, Tom Sandifer and Caire' Powe. Honorary pallbearer will be Tsgt. Kevin Roark, who is currently serving his country in Japan with the Air Force.
