A memorial service for Charles Dana “Shorty” Pryor, 80, of Columbia, LA will be held on November 18, 2017 at Georgetown Cemetery at 2:00 PM under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.
Mr. Pryor was born August 28, 1937 in Cotton Valley, LA to the union of Roy and Vastie Pryor and passed away from this life on October 27, 2017 at his residence in Columbia, LA.
Mr. Pryor was a 1955 graduate of Cotton Valley High School, a United States Marine veteran, retired toolpusher, and avid hunter. He was employed with the Caldwell Parish Sherrifs office for 8 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Richard Pryor, and sister-in-law, Betty Pryor.
Survivors include his best friends and caretakers, Vernia Jones and husband Jamie of Fort Necessity, LA; brother, Otha Edward Pryor of Cotton Valley, LA; nephew, Larry Pryor and wife Karen of Bossier City, Shreveport; sister-in-law, May Ann Bible of Jigger; children, Mark Pryor and wife Regina of Liberty, TX; Michael and Sherry Pryor of Sarepta, LA; step-daughter, Christina Hatton and husband Jeffery Don of Liddieville, LA, grandchildren, Shane Pryor and wife Gladys of Baytown, TX, Dana Pryor of Austin, TX, Christopher Pryor of Denham Springs, LA, Jana Strong of Serepta, LA, Amanda Pryor of Minden, LA, Ronnie and Rylan Hatton of Liddieville, LA, McKena and Kalob Goldman of Fort Necessity, LA.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeffery Don Hatten, Rylan Hatton, Jamie Jones, Kalob Goldman, Shane Pryor, and Christopher Pryor.
