Funeral services for R. A. Thigpen, Jr. age 87 of Grayson, will be held 2pm Wednesday May 30, 2012 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Old Hebron Cemetery , west of Grayson. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday May 29, and from 9am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home Mr. Thigpen was born on October 3, 1924 at Hill, LA to his parents, Rowell Arnold Thigpen, Sr. and Mary Eleanor Fluitt Thigpen. He passed from this life on Monday May 28, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Old Hebron Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his parents, and by his beloved wife Katherine Antley Thigpen.Mr. Thigpen was an accountant. Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Nelson, Chris McKee, Chris McKeithen, Roy McMullen, and James McKeithen, Jr.
